Our mission

AI is increasingly given tools — shell access, file systems, network calls, databases. One bad instruction, whether malicious or accidental, can delete data, exfiltrate secrets, or compromise infrastructure.

The industry’s answer has been to throw more AI at the problem: LLM judges that cost dollars per thousand calls, hallucinate under pressure, and can be socially engineered. Meanwhile, every unnecessary model invocation burns electricity. A single inference run through GPT-4 consumes roughly the same energy as a Google search — and production agent loops routinely make hundreds of them per minute.

We believe there’s a better way.


What we believe

Security boundaries should be deterministic. When the cost of being wrong is catastrophic, 99.9% accuracy isn’t good enough. The same input must produce the same output, every time. No probability. No hallucination. No distribution shift.

Efficiency is a virtue. If a decision can be made in 124 microseconds on 50 MB of memory, it shouldn’t cost a dollar and burn a datacenter watt. The environmental cost of “just ask the model” is real and growing. We build tools that replace expensive model calls with efficient, deterministic inference.

You should own your policy. Your security rules shouldn’t live in someone else’s cloud. Our tools run on your hardware, with your policy file, under your control. No telemetry. No phone-home. No subscription requirement for the core functionality.

Transparency over marketing. The guardrail is source-available under BSL. You can read every line of the mapper, the Rete network, the policy compiler. There’s no secret sauce — just careful engineering.


The company

El AI Intelligence, LLC is a Delaware limited liability company. We’re a small, independent team. We don’t have venture funding, we don’t have growth targets, and we don’t have plans to sell. We build tools we believe in and license them honestly.

Our first product, ellm-guardrail, is a deterministic policy enforcement layer for programmatic tool execution. It’s the result of asking: what would a tool-execution security boundary look like if we built it from first principles, without LLMs?
